I’ve been using these since my daughter was born nearly 7 months ago, and haven’t had a single leak issue, and my nipples are in perfect health. It does seem that they can “travel” a bit during bra opening and closing (just before and after feedings), so if I don’t catch that, I could have a big oops. This is rarely an issue, but it can happen. I did just see the reviewer who mentioned the beads. I haven’t had that issue ever. I have, however, noticed that with my daughters diapers (gDiapers), and it’s usually a result of being overfilled. If you leak a lot, I guess change these often. I don’t, so it’s never been an issue.

I was disappointed at this product at Amazon.com, because I expected “60 pads + 6 free pads” as the photo showed, but the actual packages was “60 pads” without 6 free pads, although the title of this product says so. Even so, this kind of discrepancy does not make a customer feel good in the real world. Dear Amazon.com, please correct it. Even customers admit it not worth going through the return process, the majority of us ends up feeling deceived and will be skeptical for your business approach in the future. (as of 2/11/2009)

These are the best nursing pads that I’ve found because the paper backing is waterproof, keeping them from leaking. I’m a heavy leaker and can’t live without these. The only thing I don’t like is that they are so thin and paper-like, which makes them wrinkle sometimes when you first put them in, and those wrinkles can show through some bras and shirts. To minimize this I put the smaller and firmer Johnson’s brand disposable pads inside these, allowing them to keep their shape better, and then I just change the Johnson’s pads a couple of times a day. Btw, if you try this trick make sure that you don’t use the sticky tape on the back of the Johnson’s pad to attach them because it could rip the lining on the Lansinoh ones causing that absorbant gel stuff to leak out. I’m larger-busted and find that they stay together and in place pretty well without ever having to use the adhesive backings on either pad

I usually use the Johnson & Johnson cotton nursing pads but I decided to try these since I like the lansinoh lanolin so much. It is true that I have never experienced a leak using them, but there are 3 major problems with these pads. The first is that they do not conform to the breast and the wrinkles of the pad can be seen through a shirt. I have also had polymer beads on my nipples after wearing them for only a couple of hours. The final problem and the reason that I stopped using them is that they seem to irritate my nipples. I think there may be some plastic in the backing. Each time I wear them my nipples become red and inflamed. It’s back to the Johnson & Johnson for me.

Move aside, Medela … Lansinoh Nursing Pads are my favorites now. I have used both and really liked the Medelas because they were subtle under clothes, absorbed a lot, and has a nice shape. The Lansinohs share all those characteristics and are larger (for a larger breast). Both brands only have one sticky bit. On the Medela, it has to be on top. On the Lansinoh, you can choose where it goes – I find it stays better when it’s on the bottom. The Medelas sometimes made my skin itch – the Lansinohs haven’t had that effect yet, possibly because they don’t get scrunched up as easily.
